Plymouth Arts Center’s Annual Paint the Towns in Fall Color, En Plein Air (outdoor painting) competition and exhibition is graciously coordinated by artist Dan Rizzi of Plymouth. Midwest artists are invited to register by September 30th to take advantage of the promotional rate of $45; after Sept. 30th the fee will be $50. Early registration is encouraged, as the first 45 artists to register will be accepted. The painting days are Thursday, October 6 through Thursday, October 13th with a public reception on Friday, October 14th. The painting boundaries will include specified areas in Plymouth and Greenbush, and a special weekend, “Sunset Quick Paint.” At the reception, cash prizes in the amount of $3000 will be awarded. Best of Show Award-$1000; 2nd Place-$750; Third Place-$350; along with a number of other cash and merit awards. The paintings created at Paint the Towns in Fall Color will be on display and up for bid in the main gallery of the Plymouth Arts Center.
The artist prospectus and registration form is available on the PAC website and Facebook page. All proceeds of this event benefit the Plymouth Arts Center, a charitable 501c3 non-profit organization. The public is invited to a festive reception and silent auction on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 6pm to 9pm to view all the paintings created at the event. This is a free admission reception with live music and complimentary appetizers and desserts. It is a great opportunity to meet the participating artists and to bid on a favorite piece at the Silent Auction until 9:00pm. After the reception and silent auction, the unsold works will remain in Gallery 110 North through November 18 and be for sale at a “Buy it Now” retail price. The iconic Kids from Wisconsin are rolling out the red carpet for our 55th summer season of musical excellence. You’re sure to be “Star Struck” as we pay homage to our nation’s famous award shows that celebrate accomplishments from the stage, screen and beyond. Mega-popular and award-winning artists are featured in the troupe’s celebratory season with musical selections from Broadway’s Tony Awards, Hollywood’s Oscars, to top entertainers from the Grammy Awards. The Kids from Wisconsin’s STAR STRUCK tour will bring these sensations, and much more, to life in our high-powered two-hour Broadway style production for families and audiences of all ages. This elite troupe, consisting of Wisconsin’s most talented 15- to 20-year-olds, is the country’s only pre-professional performing organization of its kind.
