Soft pastels, a medium made famous by Edgar Degas, Mary Cassatt and others, is experiencing a renaissance that you can join in understanding and experiencing. Working from your photographs, learn ways to apply pastels to achieve a landscape rich with color and texture. She will demonstrate her techniques and share ways to explore this versatile medium.

About the Artist/Instructor: Ms. Smith has exhibited nationally and in France, Germany, and China, and has won many awards. Her work has appeared in the Pastel Journal, American Artist, the Artist’s Magazine, and Pratique des Arts. She is a Master Pastelist of the Pastel Society of America, for whom she served as a juror for this year’s international juried exhibi- tion that will hang at the National Arts Club in New York City.
