The Plymouth Arts Center is proud to present a special art exhibition featuring the photography of Plymouth photographer Ken Pannier. Plymouth – Then & Now: A Visual Transformation will be on display in the PAC Greatroom beginning June 13 through July 31, 2026.
This nostalgic exhibition showcases a collection of photographs taken by Ken over the course of the past 50+ years, paired with historic images of Plymouth’s cherished buildings and facades. Together, the works offer a compelling then-and-now perspective, highlighting how the community’s architectural landscape has evolved while preserving its enduring character.
Having photographed Plymouth for decades, Pannier has witnessed firsthand the transformation of many of the city’s most recognizable structures. His work reflects not only technical skill, but also a deep personal connection to the community and its history. This exhibition invites viewers to take a visual walk-through time—celebrating progress, preservation, and shared memories.
The exhibition is being presented in honor of America’s 250th Birthday and will officially open with a Meet the Artist Reception on Saturday, June 13th, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Guests will have the opportunity to meet Ken, view the exhibition, and reflect on Plymouth’s past and present through his lens. All photographs will be beautifully mounted and will be for sale and may be ordered. (Please note: The sold items will remain on the wall through the duration of the exhibition.) Complimentary “America at 250” Birthday Cake will be served at the reception. Admission is free. Cash bar.
To further commemorate Flag Day and America’s 250th Birthday the PAC will be conducting a Flag Dedication at Noon in the PAC Courtyard and also a patriotic concert in the evening at 7:30 pm. The PAC is pleased to welcome back the Radio Rosies and their band, who performed for the 2025 Tribute to Armed Forces.
The “Plymouth-Then & Now” exhibition and concert create a shared community experience that welcomes both neighbors and visitors. The music celebrates the spirit and heritage of our nation, while the exhibit highlights Plymouth’s growth, resilience, and evolving story. Together, these events foster civic pride, strengthen connections, and encourage a deeper appreciation of history across generations.
These events are generously sponsored by Sargento, Masters Gallery, Van Horn Auto, and are supported in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin, the National Endowment for the Arts, and through Freedom 250. About the Artist: Ken Pannier is a longtime Plymouth photographer whose career spans more than five decades of documenting people, places, and community life. Raised in the Random Lake area, he graduated from Random Lake High School in 1966. He continued his education at the University of Wisconsin–Sheboygan, and later earned an Associate Degree in General, Portrait, and Commercial Photography from the Layton School of Art in Milwaukee in 1972. That same year, Ken established his photography studio in Plymouth, where he has built a respected career specializing in family and group portraits, high school seniors, sports teams, corporate and performing arts events, and commercial photography. While now semi-retired, he continues to accept select assignments and remains actively engaged in the photographic community.
Deeply committed to civic involvement, Ken continues to serve the community in numerous leadership and creative roles, including board member of the Plymouth Historical Society and the Youth Theatre Company–Plymouth; member and resident photographer for the Plymouth Arts Center; member of the Chamber of Commerce and Plymouth Downtown Redevelopment Authority, and was a Countywide Project Leader for Sheboygan County 4-H for 30 years.
An avid traveler, Ken enjoys exploring and documenting the beauty of his surroundings, bringing the same thoughtful eye and appreciation for history that define his work at home in Plymouth.
