PLYMOUTH, WI- “Alive in the Arts,” Plymouth Arts Center’s 30th annual juried exhibition opened in Gallery 110 North, Friday, May 2, 2025. Joye Moon was the juror for this annual competition. Joye reviewed artwork from artists living and working throughout the state of Wisconsin and selected 85 pieces for this brand-new show. The public was invited to meet the artists at the opening reception Friday, May 2nd from 5-7:30 pm. Live musical entertainment was presented courtesy of the Tonic Roots Band. Complimentary appetizers & desserts were served with a cash bar. “Alive in the Arts” will be on display through August 1, 2025. The presenting sponsors are Franz Backus, Robert & Phyllis Hoopman, and Wisconsin Bank and Trust, a division of UMB Bank.
Awards for this show were determined at the Juror/Judge’s discretion from the actual work. The winning artists were announced during the Awards Ceremony at 6:00pm at the reception. Cash awards totaling $2000 and Merit Awards were presented.
About the Judge: Joye Moon is based in Oshkosh, WI, and is an artist, art educator, and author of Exploring Textures in Watercolor, pub. 2009. She has taught over 200 watercolor workshops and led 38 international artists’ group tours around the world. Her work has been exhibited in over 180 National and International juried competitions.
About Tonic Roots: Tonic Roots features Ann Berchem (vocals/keys), Jeff Kolar (guitar/vocals), Adam DeSombre (bass), and Paul Massey (percussion). Based out of Sheboygan, WI, this group covers a diverse range of artists and genres, including soulful blues, jazz, acoustic rock, reinvented classics, and original repertoire.
Gallery 110 North is located in the Plymouth Arts Center, 520 E. Mill Street in historic downtown Plymouth. PAC hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday, noon to 3pm. This unique listening experience pairs two iconic, classic albums with two expertly crafted cocktails, creating the perfect midweek escape. Guests are encouraged to simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the music as it was meant to be heard—without interruptions.
