One day workshops, Adults
Description: In this 3-part workshop series, you will learn how to create an interactive, handmade journal that becomes a two-dimensional adventure as you flip each page, exploring all of the treasures that you’ve tucked inside.
In our first workshop, we will create two journals from scratch, using both sewing and no-sewing methods. You will learn several adaptations to begin making a versatile variety of handmade journals. Date: June 20
In the second workshop, you’ll return with your handmade journals. We will explore mixed-media methods so that you can learn how to design your own pages using simple supplies to decorate your journals. These mixed-media methods work well in many other art forms, including card-making and scrapbooking. Date: July 18 (You can register for this workshop without attending the first one)
In the third and final workshop, you will fill your designed pages with your own treasures. You will learn how simple cuts, folds, and other techniques can turn your pages into interactive, two-dimensional adventures that store your notes, mementos, photos, recipe cards, and more! Date: August 1 (Previous workshop required)
