Class Objectives Each Month:

February 26– Exploring color theory, mixing and more techniques

April 30 – Painting details and including other mediums such as pencils, pen and ink. Practice basic shapes and learn lighting, shading and values

May 28 - Intermediate Level - SOME Watercolor experience needed or beginner classes. In this class we work on a painting from start to finish! Paint with confidence! I will guide you through your painting applying previous lessons.

Meet the Teacher

Curtis Newman

Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Curtis Newman now resides in Kiel, WI.  He paints with oil, watercolors & acrylic paints including digital media. Curtis delights in exploring different techniques and subject matter, particularly subjects that invoke tranquility and a peaceful environment. Illustrating books is another endeavor he enjoys to complement the wonderful stories written by creative and entertaining authors! He majored in Illustration at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design and has been illustrating professionally for Harley-Davidson, Usinger Sausage, and German Fest using many mediums, digitally and traditionally. He leads paint parties and conducts classes to share the joys of creating art with others, encouraging people to explore drawing and painting for pleasure, relaxation and to be empowered to overcome challenges! Please join us Thursday, Feb. 20th from 5 to 6:30pm in Gallery 110 North of the Plymouth Arts Center as “Triple Vision” exhibiting artists Colleen Ansbaugh and Pat Bishop lead us on a complimentary gallery walk.
