Renowned Artist Ratinda Das is presenting a watercolor painting demo on Wednesday, May 18th from 7-9pm, and the cost is extremely affordable at $5. Let's fill the house! It's your chance to see a world class artist create a fantastic watercolor painting.  He's graciously donating the finished painting to the Plymouth Arts Center for fundraising.

The Plymouth Arts Center is presenting a watercolor class conducted by artist/teacher Ratindra Das.  The classes will be held at the Plymouth Arts Center, Thursday – Saturday, May 19, 20 & 21 from 9:00am – 4:00pm.  A supply list will be sent upon enrollment.  Class fees are $270 PAC Members; $300 for non-members.  Class size is limited to 12, so please enroll early.

Carry your painting to a new level of expression and paint a personal reality. No gimmicks, no intimidation, just learn the simple truths and secrets about the medium of watercolor. Free yourself and demystify old clichés.
Different methods of approaching a subject for painting will be explored. - wet in wet, damp or on dry paper. You will build on concepts given each day. Learn how to make simple and interesting shapes, and dynamic use of color. You will learn that there is “life beyond perspective!” At least one session will be devoted on how to interpret and make creative use of photographs. There will be an introductory paint-along warm up session.  Demonstrations will be given frequently.

Ratindra Das is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society and holds Master status in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America.   He has been recipient of numerous awards including five in the American Watercolor Society. He is also a signature member of six other national watercolor societies. He attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago and studied with many nationally known artists.  For the second time he has been selected from the US to exhibit in the Invitational Exhibition of Contemporary International Watermedia Masters in Nanjing, China and has been appointed as Honorary Member of the Jiangsu Watercolor Research Institute. In addition he has been invited to participate in the 1st “Shanghai Zhujiajiao International Watercolor Biennial Exhibition” in 2010. In 2009 he received five national awards. A popular workshop instructor and frequent juror of shows and competitions, he served as a selection juror for the American Watercolor Society’s 2005 annual exhibition. He was the selection and award juror for 2006 Transparent Watercolor Society’s annual exhibition and in 2009 served as a juror and instructor for other national shows.
