Just Say Cheese by Youth Theatre Company

Theatre, Youth

As a benefit to support the Plymouth Arts Center Capital Campaign, Youth Theatre Company is presenting “Just Say Cheese.” The original musical production features stories of the humble beginnings of the discovery of “Cheese” in ancient Greece, as well as, The People of Cheese -a- Town, Muffet’s Tuffet, and a bit of the origin of the Cheesehead. Written, conceived and directed by YTC artistic staff, Tim and Patty Talen, with materials researched and contributed by Riverview Middle School students under the guidance of teachers Kelly Schroeder and Diane Rosenbeck, and a cutting from the Cheesy Tragedy of “Romano and Jublilee Blue” created by the Plymouth High School Amph-Rats Acting Company, under the direction of Janet Newton, the show is a combination of talents contributed by young people in the Plymouth area. Also featured will be a classic assortment of cheesy bits, songs, and an original “Cheeze-it!” dance and rap. Musical composition was created by Luke Talen, keyboard, with other “Cheese” band members, Matt Overby, guitar, and Patrick Wade, violin. Student choreographer, Emily Schirmer; dance assistants, Ally McManus and Janelle Schirmer; and technical support from Pat Cadman round out the staff, with additional crew help from cast parents and friends.
