PLYMOUTH, WI- The Plymouth Arts Center will open a new art exhibit in Gallery 110 North on Friday, May 6th. “Alive in the Arts” is the organization’s 27th annual juried exhibition showcasing Wisconsin Fine Artists. Artist Denise Presnell was the juror for this competition. She reviewed artwork from artists living and working throughout the state of Wisconsin and has chosen over 55 pieces for this new show. The public is invited to attend the opening reception Friday, May 6th from 5-7:30 pm. Live musical entertainment will be provided courtesy of Thomas Pibal, piano. Complimentary appetizers & desserts will be served with a cash bar. “Alive in the Arts” will be on display through August 5, 2022. The presenting sponsors are Robert & Phyllis Hoopman, Wisconsin Bank and Trust, and 20/20 Visions/ Dr. Sharon Roberts and Dr. Brad Wicklund.
Awards for this show are determined at the Juror/Judge’s discretion from the actual work. The winning artists will be recognized during the opening reception Awards Ceremony at 6:30pm. Cash awards totaling $1000 and Merit Awards will be presented.
About the Juror Denise Presnell: Denise is a painter/mixed media artist currently living and working in Sheboygan, WI. She earned her BFA in Printmaking from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and her MFA in Painting from the Pennsylvania State University. Graduate school was followed by 31 years of teaching art on the college/university level. 27 of those years were spent teaching art at Lakeland University. Denise’s work has been exhibited in over one hundred solo, group, and competitive exhibitions across the United States as well as exhibitions in Tokyo, Botswana, Kenya, and Shanghai.

“Mill Street Live” will be celebrating its 16th year as Plymouth Arts Center’s premier summer musical series. Initiated in 2009, the series continues to be well-known for its high-energy performances, fantastic music selections, choreography, and showmanship.
Mill Street Live is directed by Ella Josephs and Christina Pringle. Seven Friday evening shows and two Sunday matinees will be performed at the Plymouth Arts Center beginng with the premier on Friday, June 21 at 7:30pm. All Friday evening shows will be presented at 7:30pm, matinees at 2:30pm. The grand finale show will be held on Friday, August 2nd.
